Good find looks like the exact same thing with a better price. Mine is used modern civil war style bullets that came from a shooting range in Virginia.
The bullets were made from x-ray paper coverings from a dentist so you might want to check there. I have some very old lead water pipe, good soft lead.
The tire weights are hard lead and takes awhile to melt, I don't like using it. Sometimes I will make a 50/50 split on lead in exchange to make sinkers.
Also on top of that back in the 90's I bought Ray Midgett's massive collection of sinkers and large size Hopkins lures from metal detecting on the beach.
Maybe he might be looking to unload again. It was interesting to see what people have been using over the years most of the brass eyes were in good shape.
I got the lead for scrap price but it would have been worth it for more. The bad ones, 3 sided pyramids, a big cigar shaped piece I melted them into ingots.
I do not like using 3 sided pyramids they don't hold bottom in the surf as good as a 4 sided pyramid. The storm sinkers are better you can use an ounce less.
