A wind coming off the ocean is best during the summer but usually your stuck with a wind coming from the southwest which isn't as good.

You can get around it at the inlets and south side of the point at Buxton but that wind tends to flush the eel grass out of the sound.

During fall any breezy wind coming from the north as it will drive the current south and the fall run of fish, it's the opposite for spring.

That's why people tend to be on one side of the pier or the other because the fish tend to go around the pier instead of under it.

The current can be piling the bait and fish up there too.

Anyway you can target certain fish, I just try to figure out what's the fish of the day and go with it.

Also is usually one "epic" day for all about every two weeks like on bluefish or sea mullet and I don't know the reason.

It's just something that helps me that's not always right.
