Re: $84. Yup, illegals getting this Capt's $$. In a nutshell...During Vietnam military told would get SS and Govt pension if we put in the years. Was bargain made to get us into the conflict. Congress welched on that after war ended and gave us option of paying a lump sum or losing right to SS benefits. Subsequently passed 2 more laws over the years each eating away at SS benefits. Thus over $1000 month due, reduced to the $84.
Re: Couch. Well known Co. building superior product w/ virtually no complaints. No couch back yet. Furniure deliverers put couple of dents in walls takin new out and bringin in loaner. Will deal w/ that once the "Cadillac" returns.
Re: Bins. Most homes here in the OP community have tight 2 car garages. No room for the bins. Rules strictly prohibit cans outside. This Capt's biggest 2 issues = 1. Don't like to be pushed esp. by politicians, 2. OP ages up to 96 pushin those around on slippery drives in winter a sure fall and broken bones waitin to happen.
Conflict is that councilman agrees - not something for our community. He's also Law Director. Tell's this Capt over and over we do not have to accept the bins, not mandatory. Mayor (who lives in our OP community) on other hand, bold enuf to call and talk to Mr.'s Capt saying bins "must" be accepted, threatening $16- $18 a month charges if bins not accepted. Bin drop off day late month should be interesting.
