A guy I used to work with went on a rant one day on how his people were owed something by the white man. I told him that I didn't owe him anything because my grandparents were all immigrants from Ireland. Then I asked him about what was owed to my people. He said the Irish were never oppressed. I told him to pick up a history book sometime and read the parts that are about people other than black people. Jonathan Swifts "Modest Proposal" On how the Irish were to raise their children like livestock and eat them during the potato famine. I asked him...How many Irish and Chinese died building the Trans Continental Railroad or the panama canal? My grandfather was beaten to death on a street in Philadelphia because he was Irish. He scoffed at all of it. I told him ... I see. You're only are concerned about the parts of history they suit you.

I would argue that race is the reason Mr. Obama got elected in the first place and he has done more to divide this country than anyone in the past 50 years.
