Probably not I live on the bypass. That area is a low spot on the bypass, the road should be raised there.
Anyway it used to be more like a shifting sand desert like it is around Jockey's Ridge.
I think that may have formed the ridge over a long period of time.
I don't see much on the history, this one has some about it.
