ultra lite trout

Do any of you guy's spin fish with ultra lite gear for trout? I live about five minutes from the holston river in east Tennessee and ashamed to admit that I have not fished it for some time.The river is vibrant and full of fish.The problem is that the river has become so popular that anyone with a drift boat on the planet have took it over.It's kind of a clown show watching them argue about their spots.I tried to strike up a conversation with a gentleman from a western state that I won't mention. He would not even look up or respond.Sad comment when one considers I could have helped him out.My mom's home bound and I've got little time to fish,but any advice on bank fishing with ultra lite's on the river would be welcomed.Miss the river of my teenage years,but life moves on and so it goes.
