Lol, I won't argue with that. I talked to the surgeon last week, and even though he says it's a really badly ruptured disk that needs cleaned up, he also said it wouldn't cause any more damage if I waited a few more months. According to him, I stay more active than 95% of the patients he sees with similar problems. I figured out about 15 years ago that not staying busy makes back trouble way worse. I've been doing about 5 miles with the new puppy almost every evening after dinner, and that seems to be keeping the worst of it at bay. PT says that walking and stairs keep your lower back muscles strong so they support your weight and the disks and vertebrae get some relief. I doubt if I'll be able to put it off much longer, since the pretty little RN I'm dating and her pretty little friend the surgical resident ,that hangs out with us a lot, have been hassling me. I've been halfway expecting those two to slip something in my wine one night when we're lounging around the fireplace and have their pals at the hospital drag me away. :-)
I haven't heard much on the Striper front. The lake was really low, at least 5-6 feet, and then we had some flooding from the tropical stuff a few weeks back. That slows the fishing down for a while. The water was so warm when it was low that they hadn't been coming up much here on the upper end, and the flooding brought a lot of trash in. Once it clears up and "turns over" a time or two, it should be perfect. The last couple of weeks in November are usually my best- all but a few of us are in the woods and traffic on the water dies down and makes it so much more civilized fishing. I'll let you know if I hear anything, or catch a few. I'm dying to get out, just been waiting on it to clear up
