The ocean should lay down in a couple of days, could still be real muddy with some trash which is alright for sharks, drum and bottom fish.

I noticed a lot of dune erosion in pictures further north probably will be some dune grass, lumber from walkovers and sand fence in the water.

I'd wear flip flops out on the beach because of nails and sharp pieces of rusted sand fence wire.

The mosquitoes will probably get bad at some point more so for Hatteras Island with all the flooding, you might have to stay coated in repellent.

I like a natural kind rather than deet. The tackle shops usually have something by the cash register, Skeeter Beater has been popular.

Waves is set up kind of private so I don't know that area.

Nags Head Pier is more Old Nags Head. South Nags Head is from Jennette's Pier on south over on the beach road, Outer Banks Pier.

It's a pretty beach with high dunes on the north side of Nags Head Pier and a favorite spot.

Try the beach in front of the Huron Wreck buoys around high tide and early morning or late afternoon, also the other wreck there can be good.

The Huron is at the Bladen Street beach access, here's a location map on this one below and more about it.

This is a good video .......

You can't see anything except for small buoys, one on the bow and another on the stern. My favorite when I was a kid was the boiler on Pea Island.

They don't like for you to take stuff from the Huron just so you know but I've never found anything and all I've ever heard about is wine bottles.

For eats the restaurant inside Nags Head Pier is a good spot for some fried local seafood and if you want a Caribbean meal Tortugas' Lie is in the area.

I would suggest Capt'n Franks on the bypass in Kitty Hawk for kids.
