I'd check the soil PH on tomatoes but maybe it's some kind of disease, I'd give them some fertilizer and cut back on the watering and see if that helps.
Here's a picture of the sunflowers along the fence this morning and where yours came from last year, they get tall and bushy in sand with mulch on top.
They do like being watered often, I use them to lure in the pollinators like bees.
Something worth trying is the local honey from Outer Banks Bees you can find it at Tarheel Too in Seagate Shopping Center parking lot in Kill Devil Hills.
Also might help you build up an immunity to local allergies if you have them.
