A double saltwater jig-head/curly tail grub rig works well for specks, you can make your own with heavy mono or buy them at the local tackle shops. You can experiment with the colors. I like an orange jig-head with a green body/red tailed grub or red head/white grub. Red or Orange and white always seems to work well in saltwater, especially with the Gotcha plug, which is an excellent all around lure. If you could only have one lure, the orange head/white body Gotcha is the best choice. You can bounce it off the bottom or jerk it close to the surface and you might hook anything.
