You might be able to rig up guide wires to go on the corners. You'd probably only need 2 to keep it from twisting. Something like 10-12 gauge electric fence wire stretched tight and plumb between eye bolts at the top and bottom of the shaft, with small eye bolts on the the corner of the basket at the top and bottom. I'd probably grease the wire and weight the basket a little to make it come down smooth. Lol, I don't know why, but I've always liked tinkering with stuff like that. Hope it turns out good for you, it'll be neat to see how you end up making it work.
