I have 7', 9' and 12' rods. The 12' is good for bait fishing but King is right.... It will wear you out casting lures. The 9' is the most versatile where I can use it to cast bait or lures. The 7' rod I use only for lures. I like to fish two rods so I can have some bait soaking while I cast lures for anything else.

Anyway you go, ugly sticks are good rods. They take abuse and last a long time.

If your going to be in Christiana, you could try out your new rod in the Delaware surf. Broadkill beach is getting a lot of big blues (30") and some nice stipers mixed in.
