The sound hasn't been freezing in recent years and usually the pattern has been the first 3 weeks of January is the worst of it and by the last week of February it's over, not so this year. Currently the sound is frozen all the way across on the north side of the long double bridge going into Kitty Hawk with big patches of ice on the south side of the bridge. I remember back in the 1970s the ice would form then wipe out all the sound piers when it broke up into iceburgs. Also remember there was some bad tornadoes back then during the spring.
Did get a dusting of snow last night that's still on the ground, swept it off the deck and steps still has ice from the last one.
If your traveling the big snow line is at Moyock and the main roads are clear but they haven't done the neighborhoods north of there.
BJ's Carolina Cafe is open again, if you like kind of spicy hamburgers try their black and blue burger.
The white horse on the side of the road at Coinjock that's been there forever said for ya'll to bring her some more apples and carrots.
It's the second white horse and why for so long, the owners live in a house across the road and it was split off when the road was put in there.
