Over the years I've heard people talk about building a pipeline from Oregon inlet to Kitty Hawk and pumping the sand north from the inlet with drop stations along the way.

Do you know if anyone has ever taken a serious look at this? It would kill two birds with one stone and would be a lot better than this dredging which doesn't last, as well as the nourishment.
