I was checking them out yesterday, I would suggest going to Powell's Roadside Market. Expensive but looked the best, the beamer crowd didn't seem to mind.

Tarheel my usual favorite was over ripe like peaches loaded with fruit flies and also had biting flies from the smell of the shrimp coolers.

BJ's BBQ has opened back up again and Currituck BBQ "the pink pig" is another good one.
