You might want to look for a high area to move the car to if your oceanfront in Rodanthe, fill up the car with gas and charge up the cell phone.

Worst case scenerio for me in the past extra drinking water and extra ice has come in handy.

Beer really helps settle your nerves during one.

The European forecast path is the one that tends to be right. That could mean some big swells from it with some ocean overwash at high tide in Rodanthe, maybe on Pea Island and in Kitty Hawk if the storm gets stronger and goes by offshore.

The sea shell hunting will probably be good after the storm.

I'd check out the news sites for the latest info.
