How do you know what my situation is? You know you should walk a mile in someone else shoes before criticizing them. All I did was notice that the information in your post was questionable. Things are bad enough without the wrong information being passed around. If you read the NCDOT site on repairing route 12 it says

The good news is the environmental documents NCDOT and other agencies worked together to prepare for the Bonner Bridge Replacement Project cover the N.C. 12 corridor from Oregon Inlet to Rodanthe where many of the trouble spots are located. The documents provide options for doing road repair work or building bridges, based on coastal conditions. In conjunction with our environmental resource and permitting partners, we will treat each breach individually and select the fix that is most appropriate for each problem area.
