You need some ground clearance from the ramp to the beach because it's usually tore up with ruts. The sand on the beach itself north of Corolla is very packed and hard, not like the beaches further south.

The big spot fishing at Corolla can be really good in August, spot like shallow water and can be all over the place. The areas with the stumps on the beach can be good areas for flounder and bluefish.
