same here Capt.D. life lessons taught. always had a big garden. a lot of food from hunting and fishing. granddad was a brick mason. they stopped working when weather got cold and hunted. he had some beautiful bird dogs. always work before before play. a day with grandad was up before daylight. breakfast home cured country ham, fried potatoes, eggs, homemade rolls with homemade raspberry jelly and real butter. then work in garden, and down to Shenandoah River to fish. i kinda feel sorry for kids today who don't get to experience these things.
