Opening Day!

Its finally here...Opening Day for Trout and my wife couldn't be happier. Went out with my daughter yesterday morning and both limited out by 9:30am. Got another 5 after fishing pretty much all day today. Turned out, using a thinner leader was the ticket. Catching stocked trout isn't my favorite type of fishing but I'll take it. I would prefer to be fishing for mountain trout thats takes a bit more skill but I'll never keep a native trout unless its gill hooked. Great day one the stream.

Last weekend I made it to the bay. Shad are up the river and the Stipers have followed. Beautiful day 80 some degrees. Took out a small loan and fished with bloodworms. Fished the falling tide all day. Bite picked up around low tide. Managed one big cat, a big fat short stiper and and bunch of perch. what a great day.
