1st freeze this week...31 Wed. morning. Frosts daily.
What leaves not fallen or yellowed out by drought to peak next week.
Winter birds been here for 3 weeks.
COVID still making rounds here at the homestead. Some neighbors getting it 3rd time.
Flooded w/ fake political news ...newspaper, mail, TV.
More issues on ballot to raise taxes even higher. 1 = raise "sin" tax on cigarettes from 30 to 70 cents a pack.
Deer population at minimum after last culling. Coyotes have thinned squirrels to next to none.
Groceries and building materials continue high. Bacon $5.99, 1 large home grown tomato $1.98.
Gas steady at $3.19 - $3.29.
Connecting gutter heat cables early next week when to get low 70's. Deck (never used this summer) cleared.
Lobster dinner at mom and pop place last week... $23.99. Doin clam bake at local chain today. 12 varieties of meats, veggies to pic from w/ clams. Low as $23.99.
Watched Lonesome Dove and Top Gun Maverick again. Never get old. Heard may be another Top Gun filming soon.
Billing feud for weeks w/ hospital refusing to send to it to Medicare.
Still waiting on correct parts for lawn spreader. Woman rep. sent wrong parts 1st time.
Also waiting for ruling by sewer district re: charges for water runoff. (Yes they charge for rain they calculate hits impervious areas...driveway, sidewalks, decks, and goes into sewers vs. absorbed into soil.)
Going to sons on Halloween. Theme this year = Jaws. Usual live walk thru display w/ thundering movie music. Visitors will get wet when the shark threatens. This Capt handin out candy to be made up as "Quint", the shark hunting Capt from the movie.
