Biggest issue was the grass. Tried kast masters first and was getting some on every cast.

You could see the whale with the binoculars if you got up on the dune. Saw the spout first which tipped me off or I wouldn't have noticed it. It wasn't very big. Maybe 2.5x the size of a dolphin (Pilot whale?). We've seen them before but not this early in the year. Usually around thanksgiving.
