How about a fishing report

Rolled in saturday. Might have been the longest trip ever at 12 hours. Got to Corolla about 11am then NE winds made for a short beach and had to wait till the beach was wider and there was a falling tide. Didn't get to the house till 3:30. There was no room for the yak this trip so ill be fishing from shore this week.
Got a line in the water about 5pm. Water clear and cold with a nice deep slough right next to the beach. Picked up a pompeno, spot and round head first 3 casts. Bunch more little stuff the rest of the day.
Got back at first thing sunday. wind switched from the south water clear. Put some cut bait on the big rod and nothing would touch it. Had a slow but steady pick of spot and mullet all day.
Monday & Tuesday wind switched to an east wind & pushed the sea grass in. Fished the near shore slough with artificial bloods on a dropper rig and bounced it in between the pockets of grass and picked up 4 flounder. One would have been keeper size but since they closed the season, all went back. Sat there in my chair watching bait fish way out. Could have sworn I saw a huge tarpon come clean out of the water. Talked a guy fishing further down and he said he saw some some smaller tarpon earlier that day so who knows.
today wind switched to SW. Not strong enough to push the grass out. Just got off the beach and caught a bunch of mullet and spot. Tons of bait in the water but nothing really chasing them. Every time I real in my line, I see spearing/silversides jumping out of the water around my line. Ganets & pelicans were busy all day picking at the bait. Every once in a while I seed some bait breaking but it never lasts long enough to Switch rods. Blind casting hasn't produced anything. Perfect conditions for the kaya, except I think the grass would foul up my trolling.
Will post more if I get into something.
