Monday/Tuesday Fishing Report

Had to abandon ship Mon. afternoon. Sand piled parallel to beach along driveway and house was being washed away since Sat. Sundays PM tide took out another 2 ft of beach depth leaving stumps of red cedars and cypress cut off 3-4 ft. all over the place. Called in AM re: where to park should driveway overwash occur. Classic answer from realty…move cars from OF on East Point to Methodist church on 12. About 1/2 mile away. 2nd call to realty got employee to take a look. As expected said he’d seen sand wash away then return. 3rd call got 2 more of realty who described house as “compromised” and said “time is of the essence” getting this Capt and crew out as larger nite tide expected.
After hours of back and forth w/ realty who offered 2 alternate homes for balance of week, settled on OF place in Buxton tho required an up charge. Was able to negotiate 40% off that. Arrived just before storm. Lightning hit restaurant = Rusty’s Surf and Turf.
Last night before dark saw 2 small blues caught.
This AM 0550 - 0820 hrs. saw 4 more caught. This Capt no chance. Wind 12 NNE, but ocean running too fast S to N in casting distance to hold w/ #4. Fisherman catching had 10 -12 ft rods, and able to grow beyond fast water. This Capt just brought 8ft antique rod.
Had the annual sea food extravaganza last nite here at house. Shrimp, clams, sno crab, bacon wrapped scallops, baked potato, salad, corn, garlic bread.
All great…best tho the scallops and the corn. Corn maybe best ever in a lifetime.Dinner tonight at “Cockeyed Clam”. Not expecting great things. Used to tho when it was the “Capt’s Table.” Probably hit Rusty’s and Diamond Shoals yet this trip.
