Saturday Fishin Report

Rodanthe surf 0515 hrs. 15 SW. Beautiful sunrise, otherwise no wettin a line. Beach at house gone right to pilings at high tide. House originally 3rd row. Became ocean front as rows 1 and 2 washed away over the years. Piling remnants, septic systems from those now all exposed. Be foolish to cast a line cause no idea of snag locations till maybe low tide when a lot are exposed. Expect little or no fishin this week.
House a disaster too. Washer broken, coffee pot broken, no dry beach ever - none at all, even wet, either side of high tide, no way to get to beach w/o knocking down sand wall that’s keeping surf out of drive away. Ants a million too…been spraying since last nite. After 20+ years here, it’s over. Doubt house will survive the year.
Watched after arrival yesterday afternoon small CAT moving sand to stairs at base of ocean front house to south. Spent about 4 hours pushin it to base of stairs. High tide took most of it away in 2 hours. No way out of house as stairs about 10 ft above sand. And yes there are folks in there…stranded!!!
And, house from movie = Nights in Rodanthe, was moved here from OF as entering Rodanthe due to erosion there, to 2 lots back from ocean, just north of house here. Once this house is gone it’ll be OF again.
Last nite at peak of high tide 4ft shark was 6ft from house piling. Woman walking had to be rescued as she was bein pinned against house piling by the waves. Crew still at Kitty Hawk, MP 1, reported shark too … close in.
