I call that place the mudhole so big boy is still there as with kayak tour groups, less before.

I always wanted to carve out a gator head out of wood on a stake and put it back there for them.

If you look through the bushes by parking lot in front of the picnic area there is a small canal.

I have not tried it but looked interesting maybe you might get to it enough to throw a few lures.

Also if you go all the way down road through the gates at a landscape rock and gravel place there.

Go all the way to the back is a dock with a store you can fish and crab off for free and no snakes.
