Brushy Mountain Apple Festival

I went to the Brushy Mountain Apple Festival in North Wilkesboro, NC. Early wasn't bad then the crowd got big and was getting pushy shovey.
They closed the downtown roads and had vendor tents set up everywhere along them, need to expand too many sardines in the can like the beach.
It was over 400 vendors and is supposedly the biggest apple festival in the south, different groups were collecting $5 parking fees everywhere.
I gave mine to the Boy Scouts. Overall it was a lot of homemade stuff that was kind of pricey. I think the high set up fees was the cause of it.
Plenty of food, kettle popcorn, candied and caramel apples, BBQ was plentiful, hot dogs, turkey legs, blooming onions, funnel cakes, ice cream.
I discovered the Duck Donuts food truck after the crowd got too big and had one of the biggest food lines it went across the entire parking lot.
Duck Donuts powdered cinnamon donut tastes exactly like my great grandmothers. Also was a tent selling New Orleans beignets that had a long line.
There was a wild game jerky tent and giving out free samples of alligator jerky on a toothpick. I tried it and it was good tasted like a Slim Jim.
I had a good time but get there early if you ever go. I did see on Facebook that the Nags Head event site was all going to be sold to build a hotel.
