This Capt. left at 0500 hrs. Sat. At that point storm was not upgraded and named. 1st rain while passing Wal-Mart. Was still rainin past Eliz.City.

Missed "Last exit before toll" sign in the rain and grudgingly paid the $8.

Got to hotel in Waynesboro at 1000 hrs. Check-in time 1500 hrs. Not only did check us in early, but insisted we have breakfast.

Fire alarm went off at 2000 hrs. 1/2 hour outside. Told Mrs. Capt "just stay in room while this Capt checks it out".
And she wouldn't!! Outide in her P.J.'s.

During the event (caused by someone vapping in their room) talked to old guy (really old...maybe in 80's) sitting outside in tee shirt and "baggy Jockey shorts" waiting for the all clear.

Otherwise trip back uneventful - only saw 1 police car and that officer had mini van pulled over in WV. No others seen. Arrived at homestead at 1530 hrs.

Deer grazed out front planters last nite, of course. Couldn't wait 1 more day so this Capt could apply deer spray.

As for fishin comparison...In top 10 worst 2 weeks in Salvo ocean. Had one other year w/ none caught in Rodanthe ocean. (There w/ the sand bars its all about tide times and whether they co-inside w/ early/late fishin.) Sound was also in top 10 worst ever. Was same for all fishermen all venues.

Forgot to mention in last Wed. report, were 2" angel fish in water. Catchin em was a "hand job". (If you know that term:):) Black w/ silver stripe.

Will be 2 weeks before all unpacked, washed etc. as gettin overgrown yard back in shape and settin up deck priorities.
