Roanoke River

The river is still muddy looking and not crystal clear like it normally is. Shad are being caught using jig heads and small spoons. I was down with fish management Saturday and only one small Rock fish came in out of over 120 boats exiting the water. With this cold snap and rain this upper river of the Roanoke will not really show any great action till right around the closing of the rock fish season. Good news is the Lower Roanoke River around Williamston is already above quota in catch and keep.
All I can say is "Holding a tight line is better than doing anything else" Debbie 😊
