Here, in the OP community any change beyond 3 ft from foundation must be approved by the Architectural Committee. Even tho this Capt has been on that committee for 8 years, no way electric or chain link fence will or should be approved. Have enuf deaths w/o givin OP chance to add even more.
Pots on deck only option, or as in past "share crop" w/ neighbor against his house w/ deer netting. (This Capt has no foundation area getting sun for more than 2 hours). Soil there is shallow, tapped out, and... his house his rules...and further, he believes in "pruning" tomatos. By end of July he pulls out the plants which he buys w/ tomato's already set on purchase, as they are decimated from "pruning". After 7 years of supplying stakes, and netting just finally gave up.
Sad chuckle for the day...same neighbor cleanin out wife's flower beds few days ago, strainin to get out well rooted leafin plant. Area where wives have shared an herb garden. Point out its still alive and healthy. He says it spreads and points at plant next to it. Obviously "not" the same plant. Plant goes in trash. Next day wife comes out and says "my sage plant gone, must have died over the winter"... This Capt says nothing...
