water depth in the Curritcuk Sound

I'm going to be fishing in the Currituck Sound just north of the Wilbur Wright Bridge area and also around the Martins Point area. I have purchased a nautical map and have seen some of water depth listed. What my question is:

1)what are some of the average water depths that I can expect in these areas?

2)Is there a deep channel that I can use in order to get from Martins Point and follow it south to the Pamlico Sound area?

I don't want to put a boat in the area that draws more water than what is actually there. My boat draws 35 inches loaded with fuel, 4 persons and gear.

Thanks.

George
