The Avalon Drive ramp is shallow, you might have to walk the boat out with the motor up.

There is trout and flounder in Kitty Hawk Bay during the summer but the grass in it can be hard to fish.

I would also suggest catching some minnows in a cast net and trying them for bait, you might find minnows at the ramp.
