That's what I mean the scallops could be coming from up north. I was trying to point out that the scallops you get are sometimes made out of skate on the Outer Banks. I don't know if they use clearnose skates.
Speaking of which I was at Jennette's Pier yesterday and they were catching skates about 3/4 out on the pier. The ocean has been warm for this time of year for this area, upper 40s. March might be interesting with this warmer water, looks like bluefish and sea mullet might show up first.
I also saw several charter boats fishing about a mile off Coquina Beach at Oregon Inlet yesterday, could be bluefins I hadn't heard about any stripers.
As for what else has been going on, seems like the new house building has picked up this winter and I noticed a lot of people have been installing new windows for some reason.
Stop-N-Shop is starting to go downhill, the new owner has been replacing everybody with people from India. They need to learn better english too, one guy there said goodnight boyfriend to me yesterday evening when I was leaving. Just my opinion, I think a big part of what made the place so popular was those pretty young girls the old owner used to hire.
Anyway maybe some snow tonight for the beach. Just says snow showers on here from what I've seen, 1 to 2 inches according to the weather on the cable box menu. I can't seem to catch the news and the Weather Channel has been tv shows with no local forecast.
