Well here we go. Oct 16 6:00 am. Got some fresh cut bait and whole 7" mullet that I netted from the river yesterday afternoon (thanks to A tip from Gene from Penn.) 38 degrees. Wind blowing about 20. Nobody crazy enough to be here. Can't keep my VOL'S hat on. Fished with 15' mono rig for awhile,then switched to the other rig I had with me with 30 pound braid. Double drop rig with #5 J hooks. Baited with whole mullet hooked in the head. BANG!.... 39'' drum. That's my dream fish.....so far. Caught many blues and another big drum in the next two days.Know that's small stuff for some of you guys,but WOW! I had a great time.
