surf fishing in july

Hey all long time reader first time poster... been going to Corolla for about 12 years now and always surf fish... however I have never gone this late in summer... usually i go the first week of June but this time it is going to be the second week of July... normally i start with blood worms/ sqiud then turn what ever I catch into bait usually find a few blues, macs, mullet and trout... what is the big bit this time of year? bluefish? seems to be what I'm reading. any info would be great thanks in advance
