Sept or Oct?

Looks like I may be able to make it down to the Outer Banks for a second time this year. Middle of September or the middle of October. Which would be best for fishing? I understand that the weather can make-or-break the fishing at any time. I would be mostly fishing the beaches around south Nags Head and the sound around the Manteo Causeway/Oregon Inlet area.

Also, how long does the crabbing last? Caught a bunch in July. Is Sept or Oct too late?
