Early morning or evening a couple of hours before sunset will probably be the best time to go. Could be bluefish, flounder, pompano, sea mullet, spot, croaker along with others. I would stop by one of the tackle shops when you get there and see what's been biting, best bait and rig.

Something to try that you might find in the tackle shops is the spot/kingfish rig it's good for a variety of bait and fish, helps keep the crabs off. I like the one with the 1/2" ball floats the best. Try it with either Fishbites bloodworms, sand fleas, small pieces of shrimp, squid or cut bait....
