Improvements to Rodanthe Pier

I've been seeing some pictures on Facebook of improvements to the pier and property. Seems like the new owners are committed to making it a better place to fish , even though it might take a while to get everything finished. :)

What I've seen so far :

Fixed the parking lot

New Dune fence in front of the parking lot , that has been needed for a long time.

New gate. Looks like they are going to let you enter through the gate on the pier , rather than making you go through the tackle shop , which is great. It was tough to get a pier cart through the shop or even long rods.

I've sent a few messages back and forth with whoever runs the facebook page. They eventually want to rebuild the end and get new lights.

I hope everyone is having a safe and fun Memorial Day weekend , but remember why we have this holiday and say a prayer of thanks for those who have sacrificed their lives to keep our great country safe.
