Would like to try southern obx

I'll be down memorial day week at my inlaws in corolla. I've never fished south of Avalon and would like to make a trip further south one day while I'm there. I hear the trout are decent at the little bridge. Anywhere else worth a shot. Just looking for some tips, advice, or a fishing partner of anyone needs one. Thanks in advance
