Strangely weekends probably better as "visitors" grocery shoppin those days. Early departure of course.

Story to make you laugh. Put off ferry trip for about 25 years. Finally daughter and fiance wanted to go. Mrs. Capt too. For the sake of fiance, went along. No problem till we cast off HI. Fog. Like the trip of the USS Minnow. Had to circle for about 2 hours. Got there and temps in 90's. So hot people were running from shop to shop to get out of the heat. (port-o-potties ripe:):). Were last in line not to make the return ferry. Had to wait to be 1st on the next. No problem right?? Tahoe AC workin great. But not so fast. Ferry piled on vehicles so tight couldn't open doors. Still over 90 degrees. Then the hammer drops. No vehicles allowed running on the ferry, thus no AC. Average weight loss for the day was 8lbs!!!
