If your hubby knows how to work on houses like paint, replace windows, roof, siding, floors sometimes you can make a deal with people to stay for free, a few months to several years. Some people don't rent their houses and only come a couple of times a year and they don't want to work on it or can't afford it. Like the older houses with the tall grass in the yards. You can try getting the name and phone number from the neighbors.
