Mixed feelings...

I certainly understand the spirit of this post , but with reservations.

Tell me , Karen , where were the "Atlantic Wreck Divers" when DOW , Audobon et al orchestrated the current fiasco with beach access?

Not to be bitter , but it's hard for me to be sympathetic to people concerned about losing a few square miles of the vast Atlantic Ocean when we have lost so much space on THE BEACH that has historically been accessible to everyone - rich or poor.

I may never understand , since I'm not able to spend 1500 or more to go offshore for a day more than once every few years , if at all.

Your concern that " The proposed expansion is certain to bring major restriction and limitation, and subsequent harm to the entire economic community that uses access to this ocean environment as a means for business - scuba diving, sport fishing, commercial fishing, and all tourist related industries that support these communities. " is quite noble , but the damage was done when they started shutting down our beaches. Ask any year round resident on the islands...

Remove it if you want King , but this really set me off this evening. Sorry...but you can catch fish in the open ocean that aren't stacked up on wrecks. Really hard to catch anything if you aren't allowed on the water at all.
