Hey John, Half day trips are normally from like 6am to about noon, or noon till 5pm, every captain/inlet runs diffent times. Here is a link to a couple of inlets close to were your staying.

http://www.fishpiratescove.com/charters/#31532 The cove is gonna cost more for gas(longer run to the stream), and newer bigger boats normally.

http://www.oregon-inlet.com/search/newFleetResults.CFM This is prolly the cheapest for your buck the oregon inlet is a classic inlet, nice people and nice boats.

And if you dont mind driving like alot of us go out of Teachs Lair in Hatteras

These boat mostly target the * Gulf Stream, If your looking for staying out for only a few hours id say go Inshore fishing with someone like Capt* Rick Caton hehe he's on these boards as well.
