Rod/Reel recommendation -Salt and Fresh

Hello once again everyone. Again, I only post sporadically as I'm only on the 'Banks twice a year, but I read the boards every day!

My question is this: I fish both fresh and saltwater (I'm from Michigan) and I'm looking to pick up a new spinning combo that I can use in both fresh and saltwater. About 3 years ago, I picked up a 7' combo that I use on piers and for throwing bait/lures in the wash in saltwater,and I love it! When I'm at home, I use it to throw for pike and muskie, as well as walleye fishing.

It's a middle of the road Daiwa setup, and I'm looking for something a bit more pro. Something similar to my nice graphite bass rods and nicer (larger) surf gear would be great.

Yes, I've read all the reviews and whatnot, but thought I'd ask here since everyone on the board has a ton more knowledge than most of those guys on the internet.

P.S.
The skate posts are hilarious! I brought a friend down for his first time last spring. He laid into about 7 skate one night and kept asking if we could eat them...
