The sound up there is pretty much fresh water so you'll most likely be targeting bass, sunfish, catfish, etc. There are blue crabs that make it up there also. I don't know where you can launch but be careful because much of the area is very shallow.

You would be better off launching out of the public ramp in Kitty Hawk and fishing around there.

Also, be very aware of your surroundings - the place is full of Cottonmouth water snakes which are poisonous.
