Humpback whales Carova Beach

I saw several humpback whales there this afternoon about 400 yards off the beach. Watched one with binoculars for an hour crash on bait coming up about every 30 seconds. You could tell when it was coming up because the gulls would dive bomb on its head picking up leftovers as it came up. Amazing creatures. Just wish I had a camera with me better than the one on my iphone.
There was also miles and miles of bird activity all the way to the state line. I saw the netters getting ready to set out right at the gate-not sure how they did, but might be worth a trip up there to throw a chunk of bait after dark near high tide.
