Spring fishing

I'll be going to bald head this spring,probably the middle of April.I know cape fear well, don't know much about the river.Never been to Kure beach,but would like an excuse to jump the ferry and try that area. Use two hook bottom rigs,mullet,shrimp,etc.,? Surf fishing gear is what I plan to take but inshore boat charters are an option. Thanks,Rodney
