Devastation from Irene forced me move my vacation in Salvo south to Topsail last week. I hope the recovery is going well. Fishing was slow down there. Mixed bag of small stuff. Small pompano, black drum, croaker and small spot. Surf was rough through Saturday when it flattened out nicely. If things work out, I'll try Hatteras in January. I did manage to catch a decent blacktip. My buddy caught another blacktip and a beautiful sand bar. All released and swam off strong. Good luck to all of you folks fishing this fall.
