The Fishing

Just thought I'd let you know what's happening if you haven't been keeping up with the fishing. It's been alright on the clearer, warmer water days everywhere around the beaches, bluefish, trout, flounder, blowtoads and sea mullet. The dog sharks and skates have been bad on the colder, muddy water days. Fluorescent green has been a good lure color.
Big bluefish have been caught further south at Ocracoke and will probably move north. Live bait like a spot way out usually works good when they are not schooling up in the spring.
A variety of fish are being caught in the sound everywhere around Oregon Inlet and at the little bridge. Winds coming from the north seem to be the best.
Offshore the tuna and dolphin fishing has been good 70 miles out from Oregon Inlet.
Bike week is suppose to end today and I'll be glad to see them go.
Also be careful of the cold that's going around that starts off as a soar throat, can turn into bronchitis then pneumonia.
