My experience

Now that I'm back home and have time I can relate my last experience surf fishing in the OBX.
King, you asked me to let you know how the night fishing was. For us it wasn't any good although I didn't take advantage of the lights at Nags Head Pier. Family matters came before that.
My son and I did hit some blue blitzes and he caught a small black drum. The blues were all tailers but fun to catch. Surf was a bit heavy for my liking but soaking a line beats nearly anything else.
I realize folks that rented south and were displaced by the hurricane were further north, but they were the most obnoxious folks I have ever run into. While my son and I were fishing we had people walk under our lines and others swimming/surfing through. One couple even asked us NOT to hook them as they drifted through in the rip. I mean we're only taking up maybe 20 feet of beach between us and there was hundreds of yards of beach on either side! Anyway I know the usual folks aren't like that and we'll be back next year to do our part to boost the economy down there.
